Therapy for Anxiety, Stress & Burnout
When constantly holding everything together starts to take a toll.
Anxiety and chronic stress can make it difficult to slow down, feel present, or trust that you're doing enough. Over time, constantly managing responsibilities, expectations, and the needs of others can lead to exhaustion, irritability, perfectionism, or burnout.
Sometimes stress is tied to a specific situation. Other times, it becomes a pattern that feels difficult to turn off—even when nothing is immediately wrong.
You may find yourself:
Constantly thinking about what needs to happen next
Feeling responsible for everything and everyone
Struggling to relax without feeling guilty
Overthinking decisions or conversations
Setting unrealistic expectations for yourself
Feeling overwhelmed by everyday responsibilities
Having difficulty saying no or setting boundaries
Feeling emotionally or physically exhausted
Going through the motions without feeling fully present
Wondering why you're burned out when you're “doing everything right”
Therapy can help you understand what's underneath these patterns and begin creating more room for rest, flexibility, and balance.
Understanding the Connection Between ADHD, Anxiety & Burnout
ADHD and anxiety often overlap, but the relationship between them isn't always straightforward. For some people, years of struggling with organization, time management, follow-through, or feeling chronically behind can create anxiety and a constant need to compensate. Perfectionism and over-preparing may become ways of managing the fear of forgetting something, making a mistake, or letting someone down.
Over time, constantly compensating can become exhausting.
For others, anxiety, chronic stress, or burnout can make ADHD-related challenges even harder to manage.
Therapy can help you untangle these patterns and understand what is contributing to what you're experiencing rather than assuming everything is simply anxiety—or simply ADHD.
These may be some of the things addressed in therapy:
Anxiety & Overthinking: Learn to recognize patterns of worry, rumination, reassurance-seeking, and hypervigilance while developing healthier ways to respond to uncertainty.
Stress & Overwhelm: Explore what keeps you in “go mode” and develop strategies for managing responsibilities without constantly operating at your limit.
Burnout: Understand the patterns that have led to exhaustion and work toward sustainable boundaries, rest, and expectations rather than simply trying to push through.
Perfectionism & People-Pleasing: Examine the pressure to get everything right, meet everyone's needs, or prove that you're doing enough, and develop more flexible ways of relating to yourself and others.
Self-Trust & Emotional Well-Being: Build greater confidence in your ability to navigate difficult emotions, make decisions, set boundaries, and handle life's inevitable challenges.
When Past Experiences Are Part of the Picture
Sometimes the way we respond to stress today is connected to what we've experienced in the past. Childhood experiences, difficult relationships, criticism, or other relational experiences can shape the way we understand ourselves and respond to conflict, uncertainty, or perceived failure.
Therapy can provide space to explore these patterns and understand how they may still be influencing your relationships, self-esteem, and emotional responses today.
The goal isn't to stay stuck in the past. It's to understand what you're carrying so you can decide what you want to do with it moving forward.
What Therapy With Me Looks Like
I believe anxiety and burnout deserve more than another list of things you should be doing to “manage your stress.”
We'll look at the bigger picture—your responsibilities, relationships, expectations, coping patterns, and the ways you've learned to respond when life feels overwhelming.
Our work may include practical tools for emotional regulation and stress management, as well as deeper exploration of the experiences and beliefs underneath your patterns.
We'll work together to find ways of navigating life that feel more sustainable—not just ways to become better at tolerating too much.
You Don't Have to Keep Pushing Through
You can be capable and still be overwhelmed. You can be successful and still be burned out. You can care deeply about the people and responsibilities in your life without carrying all of it alone.
Therapy can help you create more space for yourself while building the skills and self-understanding to move through life's demands differently.
